Class Update!

Good afternoon everyone! I have received several questions about the syllabus and would like to clarify that only the supplies marked with asterisks are necessary for students are required and will be used every day. Other items are recommended and community materials that would be nice to have in the classroom. 

Today in class we worked on our math skills... as well as some art! Students encourage to make a flower and word problem (to the best of their ability) about fractions! We will only be doing fractions for a week's time, but students seemed to make fun out of it!

Several due dates for students and parents to remember are:

• Basic school supplies needed: tomorrow. Please let me know if you need assistance!
• Syllabus signed and turned in by Sept, 4 and further supplies needed by Sept, 12 for projects and in-class group/individual work.
• Picture day has been announced and will be on Sept, 14.
• Further information will be posted on Friday's blog post.

First Day of Class!

Welcome to your first day of second grade! My name is Mr. Izzo and I will be your teacher for the upcoming school year. Students should have received the school supplies list, schedule, and syllabus this morning and parents should be expecting to receive it once the students get home.

Today was a very successful day! Students participating in several ice breaker activities and got to know one another.

Several due dates for students and parents to remember are:

• Syllabus signed and turned in by Sept, 4. 
• Basic school supplies needed by Aug, 30. Please let me know if you need assistance.
• Further school supplies needed by Sept, 12 for projects and in-class work.

Hello All!

Welcome to our Blogger class website for the upcoming year. I will be making blogger posts at least once a week, but you may expect more than one in the following weeks.

To introduce myself, my name is Andrew Izzo. I was born in Mineola, New York which is located on Long Island, and then I moved to Mooresville, North Carolina when I was six years old. My family still lives in Mooresville, but I am currently residing and working in Wilmington, NC. I attended Mooresville High School, Class of 2017 and was 29/460 in my class with a GPA of 4.8. I have one dog, two older brothers, and a wide variety of friends. I attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics and Technology.  I'm also a big fan of warm weather and the beach, hence why I went to school at the beach!

I look forward to meeting all of my students and parents next week! Get ready for a great year.
